Grant Requests
Applications for grants must be presented to the Foundation
in writing. They should be as brief as appropriate to present
the necessary facts about the applying organization and
the project for which the grant is being sought. The application
should include:
- The exact name of the organization or agency making
application.
- A brief description of the organization.
- The names and qualifications of the individuals
who would administer the grant.
- Audited accounting statements for the previous
year, if available, and if not available, then internal
accounting statements most recently prepared.
- A copy of the organization’s
most recent tax-exempt ruling from the Internal
Revenue Service, and a statement of whether the
organization is presently exempt.
- A clear description of the project, its purposes,
number of individuals affected, goals and expectations.
- A detailed expense budget for the project, showing
where and how the requested funds would be spent.
- Total of all funds required for the project and
other sources of funding.
- Amount requested from The Hormel Foundation and
the specific date when requested funds would be
required.
- The procedure and criteria by which effectiveness
of the grant should be judged after the grant funds
have been expended.
- Immediately following the end of the period for
which funds were granted, the grantee must provide
The Hormel Foundation with a final financial accounting
for the grant funds, and an evaluation and summary
of the results obtained.
